Welcome to LAUGHING MATTERS TOASTMASTERS of Austin, Texas - the greatest Toastmasters humor club in the world (well, OK, in Austin anyway. Or at least in the vicinity of Research and Burnet!)
You may have heard about Toastmasters International? Yes, we give speeches; yes, we get feedback from our fellow members; yes, we get to practice impromptu speaking.
At Laughing Matters we do all of this, we just try to add a little more humor into every element. We also have a few things a little different. We try our hands at Stand Up Comedy (its actually easier than prepared speeches), and provide Comedy Education. We count the HA's instead of the AH's.
At Laughing Matters, members learn comedy by speaking to our club and working with others in a supportive environment. Each meeting gives everyone an opportunity to practice conducting meetings, giving impromptu speeches, presenting prepared speeches, and offering constructive evaluation - along with lots of fun!
